Antique Late 1800s - Early 1900s Wood and metal 5 Drawer Machinist Tool Box Chest w/ Key. OLD, comes with scratches, dents, discoloration, drawers are stained from use.
The chest is 20" wide x 8" depth front to back x 11 tall. Weighs close to 15 lbs.The chest is very old. The lock latch is made by THE EAGLE LOCK CO.
THIS LOCK LATCH TYPE WAS MADE SOMETIME BETWEEN LATE 1800s to EARLY 1900s. So I'm assuming this to be early 1900s. There is a make mark sticker that is partially worn off. I can't make it out, looks like "GREEN LINE, " but I did research, can't find that name anywhere. It's probable a model name from a name brand business that no longer is in business. The chest is wood frame with sheet metal exterior sprayed silver grey. The 5 drawers are wood frame with sheet metal bottoms. Green felt is dirty from age and use. Corners are all reinforced with corner metal guards.
There is a key, not sure if it's working though. The handle is leather and intact. There are stickers on the front of the chest. The chest has a removable front panel to expose the 5 drawers. Drawers have metal small knob pulls. This would be a great restoration project as it is strong sturdy tight construction. MAKER MARK ON FRONT BOTOM DRAWER.
